Tucson Children's Museum Festival of Friendship

January 08, 2009

The holidays have all blown by, most kids are back at school, and all the leftovers are eaten.  So what to do besides twiddle your thumbs?

Well there is one more "holiday" to celebrate.  The Tucson Children's Museum is ringing in the Japanese New Year with crafts, workshops, and a festival.

For the rest of the week your child can create a 3-D good luck kitty in the arts and crafts section at 3pm.

On Saturday the 10th, they will be hosting a Japanese drumming workshop.  They will teach the kids the beats and rhythms that will be used later in the day at the festival.

From 1pm - 4pm The Festival of Friendship: Japanese New Year will take place.  Demonstrations, crafts and activities will be provided for the whole family.

The festival is included in the price of regular admission.

Check their Calendar of events for more Festivals of Friendship this month.  The festivals will help children and families explore diverse cultures and have fun while learning.
