Silly books to make them giggle

November 18, 2008

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.

We love to laugh, giggle, snort, and sigh.  A funny book is one that my kids will ask to hear over and over.  We read them so many times that J can recite them from beginning to end for his little brother.

Our most current favorite is Tiger Can't Sleep.  My mom bought this book for us because Little J has slept with a stuffed tiger since he was a few months old and would sometimes wrestle it to sleep.  Little J's tiger does not cause near as much trouble as the tiger in the book though.  All of the sound effects will have your kids laughing non-stop.

We are also big fans of Margie Palatini.  They even like to just say her name, but her books  Piggie Pie and The Three Silly Billies are even more fun to read.  These books demand some silly voices though.

Check out the crazy farm animals in Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type and the sequel Giggle, Giggle, Quack.  Are the Animals smarter than the farmer and his brothers?  Maybe not all the animals, but that duck certainly is.

Pick up a good book and get ready to giggle along.

What are some of your family favorites?

(not that my shelves aren't already overflowing!)
