Beyond the Library Story time

November 11, 2008

It's Tuesday List Day around here at Being Savvy Local.  The theme is best local story times.  But since I've written in the recent past about some great story time places here in Pima County, I thought I'd give you some options that are off the beaten path.

W.A.L.K. Events - Join your favorite book character every first Saturday of each month, 10:30am at your official UA BookStores (SMUC), for an hour of storytelling and activities.  The future line up includes Tacky the Penguin, Little Critter, Toot and Puddle and more.  Check the website for a map and directions.

Stories in the Garden - Tohono Chul Park Tuesdays at 10:00 am. Join inspired docents as they spin tales of the desert gauged to the audience. This "tour" often moves around the Park, enjoying plants, critters and art exhibits too.

Target Tykes Time - Tucson Children's Museum Explore a different theme every week with story, crafts and more.  Tuesdays at 11:30am and Saturdays at 10:30am.  Included with Admission price.

Online Storytime at home - courtesy of Pima County Library System.  Use your library card number to download Tumblebooks, an easy-to-use collection of animated, talking picture books -- plus read alongs, puzzles and games.  Curl up on the couch or office chair and share a storytime in a familiar environment with less distractions.

I won't let you forget the event of the year.....
